fan fare...

Feather and Fan Scarf

Kathy's scarf. I will probably never see this one because there has been a permanent rift with this friend after she bit my mother-in-law New Year's Day. But that doesn't tarnish the beauty of this scarf and I really hope that she doesn't toss it in the garbage, but I guess I won't know anyway huh?

(isn't this photo great? So blurry - thats what I get for trying to rush things)

Pattern: Feather and Fan Scarf (no link. There are a lot of these out there and I read them and then adapted to fit the size that I was looking for.)
Materials: 4 balls Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk in a deep teal color. I am pretty sure it is color 09 on the color card
Needles: US 8 Brittany (not sure if this is the manufacturer), Birch
Size: 8" x 60"
Start Date: 22 December 2006
Completion Date: 24 December 2006 (just the last two inches and the bind off)

Here is a closeup of the stitch pattern.

Changes: None really since I didn't use a specific pattern. I didn't block it because I loved the loftyness of it (yeah, thats it, it was sooo soft and lofty...really...its not at all because I ran out of time...). The dog did give part of it a bath but only until she decided that tiny fibers in her mouth didn't taste or feel so good and stopped to smack her mouth at me.

I think the lizard pin that I got to go with it was really lovely and matched oh so well. I think the whole ensemble had a casual elegance to it when all was said and done. Or well it made me feel elegant.
