Looking Forward

I've been thinking about sweater knitting for several weeks now. I won't start anything until after the current stuff is finished but I'm already speculating what I want to knit.

Jo Sharp
I have 16 balls (2352 yards!) of this Jo Sharp Silkroad Tweed DK in Paper Rose. Love, Love, Love this base yarn so much. Ages ago I bought some to knit Chris a scarf. I wear that scarf all the time in winter, he doesn't because he never gets cold, but I love it. It looks fabulous still after its third winter. I found an awesome deal on this yarn at some point and couldn't pass it up even though I hadn't at that time been thinking about sweaters. I'm pretty happy about this color too. Really really lovely.

I have 18 skeins (2646 yards!) of this Queensland Kathmandu Tweed DK in some unknown colorway. Its basically the same as the Jo Sharp above. I found a similar awesome deal for it. So since its the same base it had to come home with me too. This color will make a really practical cardigan that will go with a lot of stuff I think?

Having 16 and 18 skeins, plus one skein of a dark green, means that I can basically do whatever I want with them design wise. I want to make a couple of cardigans because its hot here a good bit of the year and I want to be able to wear them indoors in the air conditioning but take them off outdoors in the heat. So cardigan is more practical then a pullover I think. I haven't managed to decide on a pattern yet and I'm looking for suggestions. Any ideas?

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for a pattern. I just wanted to say the yarns are lovely.

I love the color on both of them.

Tweeds! Love any of them, me loves the tweedies. Not sure of a pattern off hand. Cabley goodness goes well with tweediness. :)

My friend just finished TWIST from Bonne Marie Burns see link here - http://www.ravelry.com/projects/MamaBearKnits/twist -

It's the first thing I thought of when I saw all your lovely tweed.

Good luck. The yarns are so beautiful.

I suck at pattern suggestions but I'd go with something simple and give the tweed it's due.

Ooh, love those! That oatmeal color is particularly appealing to me today for some reason :) What about the pattern Bianca's Jacket? That would look good in that yarn, I think...

What style of cardigan do you like? I highly recommend the Tangled Yoke Cardigan. I think it looks flattering on everyone. I made one for my bff and she loves it.
