Small Quick Gus Update
Got a phone call from the ER Vet at 2AM to tell me Gus was having clotting issues and they were going to give him more clotting factors and check again in a few hours and if they hadn't gone up he would need plasma. At 430AM his plasma/platelets/clotting factors were all in the normal range. (Yay! Heal, Gussy, Heal!!) I went to get him at 630 or so because that is the normal time I drive around town and wanted to skip at least some rush hour traffic. I sat with him for 20 or 25 minutes and he was too excited that I was there. So I went to the lobby for 45 more minutes and he slept some more. Then 8AM (when the ER vet technically closes) comes around and I sit with him some more and syringe some water into his mouth (which he didn't like) while they try to get our vet on the phone. She finally gets through the busy signals and the holds at 820AM. Our vet says they can take Gus no problem. So we put him and all his various bags of medicine in the car and drive him across town to our vet. He wasn't too pleased about that and I thought I was going to have to get help to get him out of the car but he decided to jump down on his own. (Good!) He did get carried inside though because he was sort of medicine drunk and couldn't really figure out where to go. He's at our vet now and hooked up to his meds again. He'll stay at our vet all day today and if his temperature is fine he'll get to stay overnight, but if he has a fever we have to take him back to the ER vet for the night. I'm hoping his temp will be fine. I hate driving him across the metroplex in rush hour traffic with no seat restraint and the belly issues prevent us from using a seat restraint.

Heal! Gus, Heal!
Thinking hard for you today.
I hope his temperature stays where it should so he doesn't have to go back across town again!
I hope Gus continues healing... at least he's with the Vet he and you are used to now.
Get better soon Gus!
Oh Bea, I am so upset about poor Gus. Sending him healing thoughts all the time. I hope he gets to come home tonight. I'm happy he is back at Cooper's, but I hate the problems they have with keeping the pets overnight. Hugs for you as I know the stress must be terrible.
I sorry that Gus has been very ill. And I thought I was feeling bad.
Get well soon Gus!
You get all good and healthy so you can play and play and then play some more. Okay????
Oh my goodness, I hope lil' Gussy is OK, poor baby. Poor you too!!
I'm thinking healing thoughts, too, and I hope he gets to stay with your vet tonight!!
He will certainly do better at his own vet's. I am thinking of all of you.
I'm so thankful you have an ER that he cango to for emergency care! Knowing someone is with him all the time is worth so much.
Gussy---your clotting issues--I'm so glad you got that straightened out! Mommy and Daddy and Abs want you to be home. (And ys, even the kittes, too, although they'd never say so!)
Good news! That's great.
